FAQ
Questions, answered plainly
Everything merchants ask before installing DPShoppable. If yours is not here, send it over — a person reads every message.
What exactly does DPShoppable do?
It turns short-form video into a place people can buy from. You import clips you already have — Instagram reels, YouTube videos, TikToks, or your own files — tag the products that appear in them, and publish them into your Shopify theme as a widget. Shoppers watch the clip, tap the tagged product, choose a size, and add it to their cart without leaving the player.
Do I need a developer or any code?
No. DPShoppable installs as a theme app block, so you add and position the widget from the standard Shopify theme editor — the same drag-and-drop screen you use for every other section. Nothing is written into your theme files.
Where do the videos come from?
Four places: Instagram reels, YouTube videos, TikTok clips, and direct file uploads. Most stores start by importing the reels they have already posted, then add creator content over time.
What counts as a video view?
A view is counted when a shopper plays one of your clips in the widget. Your plan's monthly allowance — 100 on Free, 3,000 on Basic, 20,000 on Premium, 50,000 on Elite — is the total across every video and every placement on your store.
Can shoppers really buy from inside the video?
They add to cart from inside the player. The item goes into your native Shopify cart, then flows through your normal checkout with your existing discounts, shipping rules and payment methods intact.
Which layout should I start with?
Carousel on the homepage is the safest first move — it shows a lot of clips without taking much page height. Once that is live, add the product-page layout to your best sellers, because that is where video answers the questions that stop people buying.
Will it slow my store down?
The widget loads lazily: it renders thumbnails first and only fetches a full video once a shopper interacts with it. Clips autoplay muted and small rather than streaming everything at full quality on page load.
Can I tag more than one product in a clip?
Yes. Tag every product that appears — a full outfit, a bundle, or a before-and-after pair — and the shopper picks which one they want from the player.
How do I know whether it is working?
Analytics attribute views, tag taps and add-to-carts back to individual videos, so you can see revenue per clip. On Premium and Elite you also get placement-level reporting, which splits performance by where the widget sits on your store.
What does it cost to try?
Nothing. The Free plan runs on your live store with 100 views and 10 videos a month, all five layouts included. Upgrade when you outgrow the view allowance, not before.
Still deciding? Install it and look.
The free plan runs on your live store with no card. Import one reel, tag one product, and judge it on your own homepage rather than on a screenshot.
